We planted some cantelope seeds in our little garden a few weeks ago and we are amazed how much they have grown and taken over the garden rectangle.
I thought I’d post a little blurb on one of those things we learned in elementary school, but have perhaps long since forgotten. We use the terms ‘a.m.’ and ‘p.m.’ on a regular basis in conversation and in writing, but how many people really remember (or know) what they mean? Post meridiem (p.m.) is Latin [...]
This should be attributed to Karol Latham – very nicely done: I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam. I do not like these dirty crooks, Or how they lie and cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like this speaker Nan, [...]
The National Academy of Sciences suggests that the whale evolved from an ancient quadruped. In their book, Teaching About Evolution and the Nature of Science (2006) they state this as a fact, “The fossil record shows that these cetaceans evolved from a primitive group of hoofed mammals called Mesonychids.” They offer the following evidences: First, [...]
We recently instituted a new policy in our household. The children must read for every hour in which they expect to watch videos (we don’t watch regular television) or play computer games (an hour of reading for an hour of video or computer – tracked by the minute). Amazingly it seems to be working. Both children time [...]
The latest fad in church movements seems to be the emergent movement or emerging church. It is difficult to pin down specifics on this movement, but it does have some very serious problems. The leaders are teaching/preaching unbiblical heresy. Many of the followers may not know that they are dabbling in what may have underpinnings in [...]
Our church hosted a vacation Bible school program this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our children said they wouldn’t mind doing VBS everyday for the rest of their lives. It was an evening program, so I taught and my DW helped with snacks. Unfortunately, she was sick on the last two days and didn’t attend.
Here are the children posing with two sheep that I cut out of plywood and painted for a future VBS program at our church. My dear wife is making me a tunic costume and we have many more exciting things planned.
The children found a duck and brought it home. It seems to have some health problems so they have decided to care for it.
Today I saw a sign at the pharmacy that I frequent. It said: “Unsupervised children will be given sugar and a free puppy.”
