We continued work on recovering our kitchen chairs today. Here is a photo of an old chair, a chair with the seat removed, and a chair with our new seat cover. We also put new foam under the cover.

We’ve started a project to recover our kitchen table chairs. The children are removing the seats from the chairs and the staples from the seat covers. We intend to insert new foam and use a different pattern and color scheme for the seat covers as we put them back together.

We welcomed 2012 without much fervor. The family has been working on organizing, cleaning, throwing things away, and more organizing. Much dusting has been done. Several bags of trash have been created. Old clothes that I haven’t worn in 10 years have been hauled off to Sharing Life or the Goodwill. I have been going [...]

We decided to downsize this year and as a result we purchased this simple tree and hung some homemade decorations (popcorn strings, chains of green/red construction paper, and red/green pipe cleaners twisted into the shape of candy canes). We wish everyone a Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of the incarnate Christ around 2,000 [...]
